Prada Shoe glamourizes smoking...

Smoking like its hawt..
The 80's inspired Prada lip sandal is currently selling at $890 per pair. Prada's latest release replaces the social responsibility of fashion, replacing with outrageous aesthetic, which has brought about public outrage

Many pointed that the cost of the shoes equates cost of 80 packs of cigarettes. Smoking and fashion have been bound together since cigarettes and cameras came together, but despite all the dire health warnings, fashion continues to fall in love with cigarettes.

Promoting highly aspirational products with something that leads to the death of up to half its users is perceived as a disappointment to many. However designers argue differently, using the platform of creative expression as an excuse - where an effort to create a mood, or an era when people smoked freely, is part of that expression.

Recently, many countries have carried out aggressive anti-smoking campaigns and regulations, but fashion stylists and designers have continued to use smoking imagery to shock/evoke historic ideas of glamour and power. Smoking says history and style to the fashion industry.
